Campus Activities Board hosted the City Sampler in the Union Breezeway to celebrate Traditions from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23.

T-Mobile had their table ready to go loaded with tote bags, office supplies and fliers for students to take.

“T-Mobile is very different and full of good energy,” said Cristina Medina, store manager. “We want to offer students un-carrier experience and an easy affordable way to communicate during their college years.”

Ryan Fucaloro, senior business major, also was there to help advertise for T-Mobile.

“We allow people like us to listen and watch whatever we want without any mobile issues,” said Fucaloro.

The university’s own banking company, La Capitol was giving out information to students including transactions.

“We are the credit union for Southeastern,” said Tracy McNemar, branch manager. “If you have an account with us, you can make a transaction right away with no wait. We are a full service institution and provide services such as online banking, and have been with Southeastern for about 20 years.”

The Greater Hammond Chamber of Commerce was advertising their new online app that includes their directory.

“Students can research what local business are around campus right off their phone,” said  Megan Mosher, Director of Marketing and Communications. “Over 600 vendors are available to research on this app and all have much to offer. We are very glad to be here on campus and to assist our students and business members.”

“We are located right by the university,” said representative Jon DiMiceli. “We offer everything anyone can ask far in promotional products. If it’s wearables, we got it.”

Many students had a chance to walk through the breezeway and get a taste of what Hammond has to offer.

“I appreciate that the businesses were courteous and were able to give out information,” said Abi Coleman, junior art major. “I also appreciate that some had job opportunities available for students.”

Businesses such as Cupcake Concept, Geaux So Greek, La Capitol Federal Credit Union, Greater Hammond Chamber of Commerce, Perfectly Fit and others were there with tables.
