The university has earned another title of great excellence this past year and is consistently being known for being one of the best universities of higher education. According to the online newsletter “Student Loan Report,” the university has become one of the top 100 universities in the nation where parents of students hold the lowest level of PLUS Student Loan Debt. This was achieved by the PLUS student loan program created by the Department of Education. It allows parents of students to borrow funds directly from the federal government. This is meant to assist the financial costs of an undergraduate education for children who are living dependently. The university was given the title of No. 93 of the most affordable higher education schools for students of 2015. According to the newsletter released in 2016, the Parent Student Debt Indicator is found by adding the average amount of PLUS student loan debt borrowed by parents per undergraduate student every year.
Leaders of the university are exceptionally proud to be ranked one of the most affordable colleges and feel much respect towards the families who are sending their children here.
“Attending college is a huge financial decision that impacts entire families,” said Erin Cowser of Public and Governmental Affairs. “When a family decides to invest in their child’s future by enrolling him or her at Southeastern, we respect the trust they place in us and are proud to provide them with an exceptional education.”
