Man arrested for obscenity at Catholic school

HAMMOND – The Hammond Police Department has arrested a man after he allegedly exposed himself in front of several school children at Holy Ghost Catholic School on North Oak Street.

According to Public Information Officer Vincent Giannobile, Hammond police were called by school officials to investigate an obscenity report at the private school.

Bobby F. Holmes, 37, of 100 Moran St., was soon after detained by police at his residence after eyewitnesses to the incident identified him as the suspect who exposed himself to the school children.

Holmes was charged with obscenity, disturbing the peace and two counts of resisting arrest, according to Giannobile.

Giannobile said Holmes was transported to the Hammond City Jail and the Hammond Juvenile division is investigating the case which could eventually lead to further charges.
