Non-student arrested for firing BB gun at students

The University Police Department arrested an unnamed, non-student after he allegedly fired an air gun at three students from a moving vehicle near Louisiana Hall. 

On Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 8:45 pm, Community Education Officer Patrick Gipson stated four individuals were in a vehicle near the dormitory when one began firing BBs from the air gun. The three students who were shot at were not injured at the time of the incident, according to Gipson

Gipson said there were two students in the vehicle with the arrestee, as well as a second non-student. The two students were referred to the Office of Student Conduct, while the second non-student was banned from campus. 

Students and employees are encouraged to report suspicious and illegal behavior to the University Police Department immediately by calling 985-549-2222. Operators are available 24-hours.
