Former Southeastern men’s basketball standout Patrick Sullivan signed a free agent contract with the NBA’s Houston Rockets and is on the club’s training camp roster.
Sullivan, a four-year letterwinner for the Lions, averaged a team-high 15.7 points and 8.7 rebounds in 2009-10 for Southeastern while blocking a school-record 102 shots. The Orlando, Fla., native finished his career as the all-time leader in blocked shots (273) while finishing fourth in rebounds (790) and eighth in scoring (1,264 points).
Sullivan, who played in a school-record 119 games in his career, competed with the Memphis Grizzlies during the 2010 Summer League.
Houston opens its 2010-11 preseason schedule on Oct. 5 when it faces Orlando in Hidalgo, Texas. The Rockets will face Southwest Division rivals San Antonio and Dallas during the eight-game preseason that includes a pair of games against New Jersey (Oct. 13 and Oct. 16) in China.
Seven games on Houston’s preseason schedule will be aired on Fox Sports Houston.
