Economics faculty ranked third in South in new study

The economics faculty was recently found to be the third most prolific in the Southern region, according to a new study from the journal “Economics Bulletin.”

Economists Frank Mixon of Columbus State University and Kamal Upadhyaya of the University of New Haven conducted the study. According to professor of Management and Business Administration Dr. Yu Hsing, the study took into account the number of research articles per faculty member published in journals in the database EconLit.  Because these articles have to be reviewed by the American Economic Association before they are published, quality as well as quantity was taken into account. Faculty members also appreciated the support of the university in their work.

“We are very honored to be part of Southeastern,” said Hsing. “We are very thankful to the University and the College of Business for their strong support and providing an excellent working environment for us to engage in research activities.”
